Don't format the drive. Use hdl_dump.exe to install execftp69.iso onto the ps2 hdd. The command will likely be 'hdl_dump inject_cd hdd1: 'FTP Server' c: execftp69.iso EXECFTPS.ELF', assuming the ps2 hdd is assigned the hdd1: and the image is in the root of your c: drive. Use 'hdl_dump query' to see what drives are visible. Now reinstall the ps2 hdd. Start the ps2 with the HD Loaded pressed disc.
